The 140th America's Birthday Parade

Celebrating Service to Country and Community Since 1878

America’s Birthday Parade is an incredible spectacle of elaborate floats, choreographed dances and live performances – including some of the country’s most talented marching bands. Parading through the streets of downtown St. Louis in the shadow of America’s tallest monument, the Gateway Arch, this classic summer event is a celebration of our city, our people, our community, and our country… from sea to shining sea. Join us for the 140th America’s Birthday Parade on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. The parade will march west along Market Street in Downtown St. Louis.

Archibald Eagle – “Archie” for short – made his Inaugural Flight during the 138th America’s Birthday Parade and is excited to soar even higher in this year's parade! Named after the iconic Gateway Arch, Archie’s egg was first discovered in a nest high in a tree on one of our parade floats. After hatching, the parade team raised him with love and taught him everything he needed to know about Independence Day, America's Birthday Parade and the incredible city it celebrates. Now, a strong advocate of America’s Birthday Parade and the St. Louis region overall, Archie can’t wait to see his fellow St. Louisans at various events throughout the year. When you spot him around town, donned in his classic red, white and blue apparel, be sure to say hello and give him a high five!
